报告内容简介:
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses a serious global health threat. Historically, solutions to AMR focused on the health and agricultural sectors, but the critical role of the environment in AMR development, transmission, and spread has now been recognized. As such, addressing AMR requires a 'One Health' approach, which considers the interconnectedness of human, animal, plant, and environmental health. The report emphases pollution mitigation as critical, especially improved human and animal waste management at global scales. This talk will first summarise findings from the UN report ("Bracing for Superbugs"), and then use case studies from Cuba, Bangladesh, the UK, and other places to show what “prevention” and “integrated surveillance” entail and why One Health is our only option for combatting globally increasing AMR.
