The SMBKrause lab is part of the School of Ecology and Environmental Sciences at East China Normal University, Shanghai. We are looking into functional-biodiversity relationships of microbial-driven biogeochemical cycles under varying global change scenarios. Methane-consuming bacterial communities are used as a model system since these microbes utilize methane, a potent greenhouse gas, and thus, provide a key ecosystem process that is highly relevant to the regulation of the global climate. The lab was established in 2019 and currently comprises 8 members. For more information about the SMBKrause Lab, visit https://smbkrause.github.io/ or contact Dr. Sascha M.B. Krause at ssa@des.ecnu.edu.cn.
