周集中 教授
周集中教授，美国俄克拉荷马大学乔治·林恩·克洛斯研究教授(George Lynn Cross Research Professor)、橡树岭国家实验室环境基因组学研究中心主任，美国微生物科学院院士。2007年迄今一直担任中国生态学会微生物专业委员会名誉主任。周集中教授以基因组技术为基础，在世界上首次开发了用于生物地球化学、生态学和环境科学中的微生物群落功能结构研究的综合性基因芯片（GeoChip5.0），具有重要国际影响。2002年获美国青年科学家总统奖；2009年获国际工业界科技最高奖R&D 100；2015年获欧内斯特·奥兰多·劳伦斯(Ernest Orlando Lawrence)奖(U.S Department of Energy’s highest scientific award established by President Dwight Eisenhower in 1959)。在Science, Nature Review Microbiology, Nature Climate Change, Nature Communications, PNAS, Ecology Letters, ISME Journal, mBio等重要杂志发表论文500余篇 (Citations >18,000, H-index, 70 based on Web of Science; Citations >26,000, H-index, 87 based on Google Scholar)。ISME J, mBio, AEM等著名期刊编委，F1000推荐专家。
报告摘要：
Developments in metagenomic technologies have revolutionized the realm of microbial ecology. This presentation summarizes current advances in environmental genomics, from GeoChip to high throughput sequencing, and the applications in microbial ecological studies. The talk mostly focuses on recent research findings using metagenomics tools from Zhou’s group.
