讲座题目:Role of grass seed microbiome on grassland nitrogen cycling
主讲人: Saman Bowatte 教授

开始时间: 2019-5-8(周三)上午9:30
讲座地址: 闵行校区资环楼435会议室
主办单位:生态与环境科学学院、科技处
His research focus has been about understanding and manipulating plant-soil-microbe interactions in grazed pastures to improve grasslands productivity while minimizing environmental pollution. His research included understanding of (a) nitrogen dynamics in pastoral soils, (b) climate change impacts on grasslands, (c) greenhouse gas emissions and mitigation, and (d) molecular level understanding of soil microbial diversity and function. He was a first author or co-author over 40 refereed journal papers in wide variety of journals such as ISME Journal, Soil Biology and Biochemistry, Agriculture Ecosystems and Environment and Geoderma.
报告摘要:
Understanding the influence of plants and plant-soil microbe interactions is important for improving knowledge of nitrogen cycling and nitrous oxide (N2O) production from livestock farming. In this lecture I would like to show that not only plant identity influence N2O production in grassland soils but also grassland plants itself emit N2O. Meanwhile, it is noteworthy that bacteria on the grass leaf surfaces can be a previously un-recognized source of N2O emissions in grassland ecosystems.
