报告人简介: Professor Wellington is an active member of the Environment theme within the School of Life Sciences at the University of Warwick. She holds a personal chair and, with her research group, is involved in the study of bacteria in soil and survival of pathogenic bacteria in the environment. Her group was one of the first to report the molecular detection of antibiotic biosynthesis in soil and co-evolution of resistance in non-producers. She has published more than 160 papers, including Science, ISEM J, and Lancet Infect Dis. The total citation is 5469.

报告简介Subsequent work indicated that waste disposal practices further disseminate antibiotic resistance gene into the environment. A strong current focus is the fate and survival of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in natural environments. Several routes of dissemination of ARGs have been identified during research done over the past fifteen years and have included the addition of sewage sludge to land, manure spreading and use as fertiliser, fish farming and the effluent from waste water treatment plants (WWTPs).
